Why isn't my Windows phone recognized by Zune?

windows phone not recognised by Zune

I have a windows nokia lumia 925 running 8.1 connected to my laptop { windows 7} running zune 4.8 My laptop recognises the phone but the zune software does not?

Sadly, but Zune only works with Windows Phone 7 devices.

Starting with Windows Phone 8, you'll have to get the Windows Phone program for your PC.

Zune only works with WP 7, 7.5 and 7.8
