Well, I see your point in regards to the costs involved. Saying that, it does point to a level of laziness. Instead of making the app comparable to it's rivals they develop a mediocre app and then complain no one likes it. Then they pull it.
Makes complete business sense to me.
No, no, no, not after having this argument in another thread trying to explain why I would never say such a thing! ;-)
I don't think app developers of big companies are lazy. That has multiple reasons. A developer programming for iOS most likely isn't programming for Android and Windows Phone. So they have to hire specialists for each platform. And the developer they hire is most likely not lazy, a big company usually doesn't hire lazy people.
It has nothing to do with laziness, it has something to do with business decisions. They have to device to support the platform, have to device to hire the people, have to decide to provide the support. That's a lot of money, and if they think market-share is too low, they won't invest it.
That's my theory, it has nothing to do with laziness.
