A new USB standard 3.1 HOORAY!

The new USB standard has been released which has the transfer speed of 10GBPS .

I hope qualcomm implement thunderbolt onto their chipsets, i'd rather see that then usb 3.1 on phones tbh as I don't see mini hdmi being picked up OEMs - having said that Thunderbolt on phones might be a distant dream lol.

However there is no set standard of implementation of USB 3.0 on desktops.. some motherboards have a usb cable sticking out, some have proprietary headers. Unless usb 3.1 is properly standardized it will be awhile until we see it on our phones.

With qualcomm stuffing everything under the sun onto one chip probably we will get it by WP9 lol.

USB 3.1 for phones isn't really that useful right now. Speed is good but most people's computers aren't going to have it for quite some time.

Probably not but more and more laptops, tablets are incorporating usb 3.0
