All of my photos and files have disappeared from my OneDrive, how can I get them back?

All of my photos and files have disappeared from my OneDrive

Hi

I logged into my OneDrive today, and all my photos and files are gone. This account is 5 years old.

There is 15gb free and nothing in the recycling bin; i.e. no trace.

I have recently restored windows (to factory settings) on my laptop that was synced to the cloud, and this seems to have coincided with their disappearance.

I don't understand how this is possible though, because the files were definitely uploaded: they were available to view from my phone while the laptop was off and broken.

Any thoughts?
