forcing mango - will it remove network details and void warranty

hey

if i force mango on my phone, will it remove the orange carrier label and then void my warranty?

according to BillCox it seems okay, is he even a genuine microsoft guy though?

sorry to sound such a noob aha i'm not into this technical stuff im just desperate for mango

It won't remove any branding dan094, it was for some, removing the Orange section, but this seems to be resolved now.

No sign of your Orange update yet through Zune the normal way then ?

hey, ahh okay cheers, will it remove my warranty though?

nope my phone atm is currently living in my laptop, which i left on all last night to see if it would come up with the update

OrangeHelpers told me it'd be a few days a few days ago, god I am impatient

will people be transferred onto mango whilst it's the weekend??

and cheers haha, i love my windows phone its ace so hopefully i'll learn some cool stuff here

Well the only problem you may find and i'm not sure if it's specific to him was that he has forced the update and it didn't update his firmare to the latest.

You get updated firmware as well as the latest phone software. (Mango)

What firmware do you have just now ? (Settings / About / More Info)

ahh but there was loads of problem with samsung phones wasn't there?

as long as it doesn't void my warranty I'm fine, i'm not doing anything wrong am I??

No you're not, you're just attempting to get an early update. :)

Good luck if you give it a try. (You may need to try it several times to get the timing right)

am i basically getting the same as what i'd get if i'd have waited, just getting it earlier?
