If this is accurate those are huge numbers.
For example, initial sales of the company's Lumia 710 at T-Mobile and the newly launched Lumia 900 on AT&T have been strong. The company said that more than 2 million Lumia 900 devices sold in the first few days and was a best seller on Amazon.com. But the company has had trouble in markets such as the U.K., where it initially launched the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710.

That's impressive. Remember a month ago when analysts were saying that the 900 had to sell 2M in a quarter to be considered a success.

I can't find a cyan 900 for the life of me. Everybody's got one black 900 in stock, and that's it.

I love how the commenters on the article are quick to remind everyone that 2 million is a poor showing.

I actually think the reporter is wrong...... But if the numbers are true then the launch was a blockbuster.

It's a great story only problem is... It's not true. Nowhere in their results or their earnings call do they say they have sold two million lumia 900s devices. I suspect this is a figure for TOTAL lumia devices across all markets.

And.... Looks like my assumption was correct. They edited it. That was a really bad mistake by that lady.

just 2 million outside US (well maybe some T-mo 710 numbers in there) I'd really like to see just the T-Mo 710 numbers.

My local AT&T was sold put until yesterday. I don't think they have sold out of any device otber than the iPhone in recent memory.

I'm thinking they will sell a couple million, but that's just me being optimistic. The phone is good and the more and more we show folks how nice it is, then other people will get interested. The initial surge is great. Just in time for them to get more recognition so come October and the holiday season, they can have those already interested to finally take the plunge, but on their own money, but through their family members money. I could be totally in left field with this though, lol. Me and my wife already plan to get new WP8 phone for Christmas.

Yup

Correction 7:42 a.m. PT:This story misstated how many Lumia 900 devices Nokia has sold. The company has not disclosed that information, but it has sold 2 million Lumia smartphones in total.

Sucks but accurate information is more important.
