as an example here is my golf scorecard's address on windowsphone.com Golf Scorecard | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States) that last part is the app id (51ecd684-3180-404d-be37-ea5b21860b80)

I have found something quite cool while looking for a way to launch built in apps or nokia drive where there isn't (as far as I know) a way to get the app id.
WP8 lets a developer assign your app URIs to launch with. e.g. the built in email can be launched with mailto:myemail@domain.com or facebook could use facebook: and then any details they want to pass in the link. Microsoftt have built in some for accessing settings and such e.g. ms-settings-wifi see here for full lists:

To get the app ID, go to the app in the list, press and hold, and share. When you choose a source, you'll see the URL, and the app ID is at the end of it. So Nokia Drive + Beta is 31bbc68c-503e-4561-8d85-a294d54df06f

you can also see them in the web interface to the store - the url for the app's page ends in the APPID. For example, if you browse to the amazon mobile app on windowsphone.com, the url is:

The APPID for this app is 351decc7-ea2f-e011-854c-00237de2db9e

If you set the Uri to maps:yourzipcode it will go to the Bing maps app.
