Moving from WP7.8 to WP8.0

Hi,

I am finally upgrading from Lumia 710 to Lumia 720.

Anybody knows any good method to transfer contacts, photos, messages, MS files and even settings over?

Currently, I am using Zune to sync ny laptop (Microsoft Vista) with the phone.

Your backup from win 7.8 should transfer all your phone content. As for music, photos, and other media: skydrive, and music syncing is a pain. I prefer the old drag 'n drop method.

May I know where is the backup you are referring to? Do I just need to connect the new phone to Zune?

Isn't there an app by Nokia called Transfer my Data? I think it can transfer contacts and messages (dont know if pictures also get transferred)

Hmm. With Vista, Idk how to transfer photos and music because I use the Modern UI app in Windows 8. I believe contacts are linked to your Microsoft account so that won't be a problem.

Contacts -> automatic backup with your hotmail/outlook email account
Pictures -> Skydrive or PC
Music -> PC

App Data, settings -> Gone

I'm going to buy the new one (720), but still wondering about the Messages Transfer. Nokia Transfer Data app transfer Contact and only 500 received msg.

Is it impossible to transfer all the Messages?
