How much storage space should I leave for WP8 phone to run efficiently?

I've only had my Huawei Ascend W1 phone for about a week and I only have 469MB free space left as it only came with about 1.7GB useable space. How much space can I use up before I have to start deleting apps and such? I frequently use 'Storage Cleaner' which usually brings me back a 100MB or so depending on how many things I have used.

Sadly my 32GB micro-SD is underutilized as I can only save music, videos and pictures to it which I don't have many of so I have 30GB free on that. If only I could save apps to SD ;( I wish I could see exactly which apps were taking up the most space but there is no detailed view of this as far as I can see on WP8.

Cheers for your advice!

Have you checked in Settings > Storage check > Details > Apps > Details?
I'm not sure if this is Nokia only, but that's where I can see exactly per app how many storage it uses.

Rob that is Nokia only unfortunately as far as I am aware, I made another thread asking if there was an equivalent. Windows Phone 8 should come with basic info like that anyway, I was very surprised it didn't. I was choosing between the Lumia 520 and the Huawei, I went with the Huawei because of the superior battery life and the front facing camera which I wanted, if the 520 had those I would have gone with it for sure.

I can cope with the lack of space, I'm just wondering if anyone knows when the OS starts to struggle due to lack of storage space? Can it go as long as <100?

I find that my 8X starts acting funny when I am under 500 MB. I normally try to keep close to 1GB if possible.
