While its possible this was done by mistake, I have to admit there is a lot of effort made by MSFT to make a buzz around about the platform. They simply aren`t there yet in terms of functionality and the whole attempt is to shadow all of that. Whether it maybe the sales numbers or the so called "closing of the app gap".

Seem to be trying too much to entice devs ,which atleast as of now, hasn`t succeded despite all of the money being pumped in and the "Scroogled" campaign. They are still far behind iOS which they seem to be actually adopting as a model and at this time, they simply aren`t doing enough to catch up. One thing that is 0sure, is if a significant player emerges meanwhile, it would simply mean the death of windows phone.

I think in my opinion. WP8.1 will bring functionality closer to Windows RT 8.1. and Windows RT 8.1's functionality is pretty good. I'll be excited if they do that. But I wonder if MS will separate each app on WP into a app like Windows 8.1. though I find it likely they will

Microsoft tend to publish things during working hours, Redmond time.

Actually that's not always the case. There's several times that things are published outside of normal 'working hours'. I'm not even really sure that concept exists at Microsoft. For instance I don't know if you've noticed, but a ton of the software launches for updates for Xbox, Windows Phone, etc are around 2-4am on the days they are released.

That means there are people who are there that late while the software is being deployed to monitor the rollout in case of issues. This also includes people who do the documentation as well. There are tons of late night folks at MS. :)

Go for it. I'd like to see that. So you're going to develop a kernel, make it small enough to use on a phone, then develop a graphical interface, APIs and ensure everything runs smoothly and integrates well with all the other APIs for all the social media sites. Then on top of that you're going to create an easy programming environment so that people can develop for the platform you just created.

I'll see you in about 5-10 years? Maybe? By then your OS will be pointless as things would have moved on by then.

they(Ms) has the kernel, they have windows phone 8. Just give me the source and i will do better than them.

I still have this feeling that there is a big game behind all this, you may say that I am a conspiracy person.

The kernel in WP has the file management APIs in it, however they are not available in the .net framework, adding those APIs to the .net will be easy job but it is the files hub system that might be an issue for them.

Why would you need the source? You said you can make an operating system in 2 years. Geez.

No, no, no. You seem to want it handed to you already built. See that's not fair. MS had to optimize the kernel for mobile use. They created the kernel and made it work for mobile. You said you could build a better OS. So you need to create the kernel as well.

On top of that you appear to believe you can just throw a control layer on top and it will work. You make it sound so simple.

Since you're such a programing whiz, what apps do you plan to release on WP? Something good I hope since you can build an OS.
