I'm not positive but i dont think you can display it after you've logged in, the show password feature is usually there to show what your typing during the log in process and then blanked after log in to protect against theft in the event the phone is lost/stolen or unauthorized use

Try and access the router, for example take a D-Link wifi router when you are connected to it via wifi, open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 then it will ask you for a user name a password which is by default for most routers "admin", type "admin" in user name field and again "admin" for password field. After you get access to the routers setting page, look for wireless on the left hand side, select it and then come down to security and then look for the password stated as "Key"

On most routers, the IP address is written on the back or bottom.

Simple, you cannot see it on the device. This is to prevent you from 'sharing' passwords.

Well, if you are already connected to these known WiFi hotspots then don't you already know the passwords?

Not necessarily, someone may set you up to use their network, but would not want you to share the password.
