Email Problem with Self-Signed Certificate

Hello all. I am having an issue with my Windows 8 Phone where I am getting a generic error when using a self-signed certificate. I have installed my ca cert on the phone but I still get this generic error just saying something like there was a problem syncing mail. It works fine if I don't use SSL. My mail server is hMailServer. I have installed the ca cert on my Windows 8 tablet and Outlook 2013 works fine. I've also done this on a windows 7 PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nevermind. This is a weird error. For some reason, hMailserver was autobanning my phone when I used my full email address as the username. This is how it is set up in outlook and it works fine. It does not ban the phone when I don't use @somewhere.com in my username.

All i can say is when i tried installing it never worked. Did it long back, so don't remember the error. Saw in the leaked details of 8.1 that encrypted email will be supported. Probably is not part of gdr3 and will have to wait till 8.1
