Has the Windows Phone store improved on search?

What do you think. Is it better or the same?

it still looks the same for me , many carp apps shown on top chart

for instance if I search for subway surfers , or temple run 2 on my Lumia 920 the first 2-3 results are spam apps which are paid (title is subway surfers guide , temple run 2 guide ) , the official game is on 3rd or 4th result

This is not true. I just try these search and the results were just that. Search again and repost. .

Search again. There is definitely a new search algorithm in the Window Phone Store.

Any one else did the test?

I also tried it and it works just fine!
The store feels so much more high quality now!

My search results aren't exactly like yours, probably regional differences, but it's certainly using a new algorithm.

I agree I'm on the US North East region give it some time eventually it will reach where you are.

What I mean is that it could just be regional differences in popular apps and ratings that have influenced the search results.

As an example these are the top four results when I search for "temple run":

Temple Run - 1611 ratings - 4 stars
Temple Run: Brave - 25 ratings - 4 stars
Temple Saviour - 547 ratings - 3 stars
Temple Run 2 - 7164 ratings - 4.5 stars

Those differ significantly from your results, even the ratings and amount of ratings differ.

The search is definitely based on which region you are and is affected by the local developers of your country. The first few on the list will be the local developers and then somewhere below will be the genuine app.

yes it does feel like it sometimes!! But it does makes it more easy to understand and do.

that's how metro UI works and looks like , SIMPLE , BASIC AND CLEAN

The rumors is that this will be available with WP 8.1. Keep your eyes peeled for the next major update. Coming soon in early April.
