Backing up apps to microSD card

This is a feature I seem to recall reading about, but can find virtually no information on! I'm updating to 8.1 now, but I had a couple of questions for anyone who has already gone through the paces.

It's my understanding that WP8.1 allows users to move the apps on their phone to the microSD card. Is this true? How is it done? I'm on an ATIV S, and I want to reformat my phone, but I don't want to lose apps/games that have been delisted from the Marketplace. Is it possible to back up the apps to the microSD card, then reformat, then restore the apps from the card?

Yes you can. After you update your phone, use STORAGE SENSE to select multiple apps and the move them to your SD card.

Excellent, thank you so much! And they'll still reinstall, even if I reformat the phone, and the app is no longer in the Marketplace? I remember previously, if you tried to install an app from the microSD card, it would require validation from the store, so if the app had been delisted, it wouldn't work.
