lol , why the hell you r not using it!. i use it everytime and it types every word correctly. now i type upto 80% faster than past.!
Why am I not using it?
I'm used to touch typing on a pc, my brain is used to one hand for each side of the keyboard. I use two thumbs when typing on WP and it messes with my brain using just one thumb!
    I'm slowly learning though.

I've learned to type with both thumbs to a very high speed, so I don't need Swipe. I can see Swipe being an improvement for single thumb/finger users though.

I keep forgetting to use it because I switched from 4 years of an Android phone about 4 months ago to a 1020 and I don't "type" much on my Android tablet. I've been slowly getting back into using though because it's definitely faster for me. The only thing I miss vs. the Android version (Swiftkey in my case) is that with the Android app I could swipe through the spacebar and keep going. With the WP 8.1 keyboard I have to lift off after a word and then continue again to get the word to complete and put a space in. Not a huge deal but it does interrupt the flow a bit.

What's the official name for the feature being discussed? I'm seeing Swype and Swipe being used a lot. Isn't it Word Flow?

    Word Flow?
I think so, though I'm pretty sure I heard Word Flow being used for something else before 8.1.

I love swype keyboard, I was waiting for it since past year when I left my Symbian Nokia 808 for Lumia 720. It's really fast to write an e-mail for example, I use my Lumia 1020 to work and must write mails constantly. I write all in Spanish without any problem. Thanks for this MS

For me, this is a dream come true - being the only thing I missed about Android. The only missing element I could really find was using possessive features such as - Adam's, Fran's, the farmer's, etc. On Android's Swipe, you swipe "farmer" then swipe a second time through - 's - and it tacks the combination -'s- onto the word.

In Word Flow, unless someone here has found a trick I haven't, after swiping the word, you then have to open the numbers keyboard, type - ' - then reopen the abc keyboard and type -s-

By no means a dealbreaker, but it's a bit cumbersome on those particular kinds of words..

Yes, I do. I'll do two-thumb landscape for something longer, but for something quick, rather than changing how I'm holding the phone, I find Swype very quick and shockingly accurate.

I never thought I would use it; I tried Swype on Android and didn't like it (although admittedly, I didn't give it much time because I never jelled with Android). Prior to WP8.1 I would 'swype' from the uppercase and the symbols keys to get my capital letters and numbers, which I liked a lot about the WP keyboard. Now I find myself using Word Flow every so often and am impressed. I am very efficient typing the traditional way on my L920 so I was never really looking for an alternative, but every once-in-a-while I find my self using it for short messages when using just one hand. I have a feeling it will grow on me. Microsoft has done a great job; without a doubt Windows Phone has the best standard keyboard.
