Any users using a MiFi?

recently converted from android. So far has been pretty much seemless and have no regrets (lumia 1020)
One thing i miss about android though is that i could treat my connection to my mifi as a data connection. eg when i was at home and connected to my home network (basically unlimited) i could have apps sync pictures update etc. whenever i was connected to my mifi it treated that connection (via wifi) as a data connection. I cant seem to find anything similar in windows phone. (running 8.1). Is it something ive just missed?

Why not? A mifi connection is really just a Wi-Fi connection, right? How does the phone know the difference?
