Skype as a product, while meh, does offer some very good capabilities. Integrating Skyoe into the OS to replace the Dialer and the messaging app the same way Xbox replaces media apps sounds like a good idea. So we now have two apps, Skype Messaging texts and IM, Skype Calls which integrates with video calls and any Skyoe number. It could elp push both brands forward and allow them to feed on each other, as well as add a splash of color to the dark messaging app

I hate the white background of skype. They should give an option to user to switch between dark/light mode.

Skype is pretty bland and boring.
I use it...but don't really like the interface or features.

Wish Microsoft would pump some effort into Skype :straight:

it would be great if they add file sharing in windows phone(I know half of the time this feature does not work )

I will agree with you. It will be the same as Google does with its Hangouts App.
This is quite a cool thing to have everything in one place.

agreed but no thanks to replacing the dialer and messaging apps, its the same for google voice and hangouts on android and most people absolutely hate it

We could have two separate sets and you could choose on settings. Allow skype to handle your calls? Or something

a merged app is a bad idea imho, imessage is also similiar and so are hangouts and google voice, they should concentrate on improving the skype app first

This is true!
File sharing is certainly lacking in Skype...

I'm guessing that file sharing in Skype is not there yet because it's not possible. You can't attach a file to an existing email due to OS limitation.
