Many apps in Windows Phone 8.1 have changed from system apps to independent apps such as the Music app. Microsoft has said they've done this to enable them to update them more often.
Why can't system apps be updated individually?
What part of the OS can't the new Music app access that the system Music app could? Is this the reason it's so slow? If you open the original music app all the songs are there ready to play, why can't the new music app do that instead of scanning the library for new songs?
