Deleting Emails

Is there an option/setting when you delete an email that it can be only deleted from the handset and not the host email if desired?

What email protocol does this account use: Exchange, POP3, IMAP?

Laura, it would be from my Godaddy business account which is POP3, I would also like to be able to do this for my yahoo mail account as well.
