101 uses for an abandoned Windows Mobile Device:

I still use my 950. I play with a Lumia 640, Lumia 822, HTC Arrive, and Samsung Intrepid. It reminds me of how slow they seems now and the old user interfaces and some of the features that we have lost over the years.

Sometimes when I just want to charge my phone, I'll pick up one and use it like my other phone, except I can't make calls on them.

I've thought about turning my 640 into am 'Invoke style" home assistant.

I want to use mine as a alarm clock any suggestions on a app I could use? I have the Lumia 950, so it's OLED afraid of getting burn-in if I keep the image static.

Contrary to the abandoned thought, I still use my HP Elite x3 with a 950 as backup until I can order another HP Elite x3 for replacement, if I don't order another HP beforehand as a backup, if the need so arises. Knock on wood that need doesn't arise. Whether or not Microsoft, HP, or whomever else is not heavily invested in Win10 Mobile, I am. I love it to much to stray until the moment I don't have a choice and the moment definitely isn't right now for me. They would literally have to brick my phones via an update for me to switch.

I just got a HP X3, so Using it ? THe others that arent broken or recycled are backups.

I am still using my 950. My kid plays games on my old 928. My 950 will be used as long as it works, I can't find any other phone that I would move to. The problem is that I like Win 10 mobile. Don't want to give up my live tiles, and don't want to have to use widgets to fake them. If that was what I liked, I would still be using a VISTA laptop.

Waze hasn't been updated on Win Phone for a few years now. Obviously it won't be for the future, in fact nothing will be.

Right, but I was hoping for a UWP app - for example, something to use on the Samsung Galaxy Book

I was actually able to sell my 950 to a W10M fan. He was forced to use Android when his last phone broke but was so happy when I sold him my 950. I gave him a great price too, because he's a friend. (He's living in transitional housing on a fixed income)

I will put my 920, 1020, 1520, 950 and Elite X3 in a pillow case and ask my wife to hit me with it hard every time I think about looking at anything consumer from Microsoft ever again.

Now, on a more serious note: I will keep them, just as I kept all my Palm Pre's.
They are cool memories of good times.
And a reminder on how to not do business :)

Lol

OH MAN DO I MISS PHYSICAL KEYBOARDS. Of course it would probably be better if so many apps on my 1520 don't have a landscape mode, but as far as I'm concerned the tilt 2 screen and keyboard were the peak of what phones should be.

I bought a bluetooth slider keyboard for a Galaxy S4, as it and the HTC One M8 are very close in size. Had to trim the plastic tray a little around the volume buttons, the 3.5mm jack, and around the camera and flash LEDs. Works pretty good, just not as good as an integrated keyboard...

I agree; HTC should have pushed the HTC 7 Pro to more than just USCellular (or whoever got it in the US). That might have kept the fire burning.

The guy who bought mine, really loves WM, and won't use anything else! He tried Android and couldn't get used to it and he hates iOS! He will continue to buy WM devices until he no longer can!

As long as the Phone and Messaging work, Windows 10 Mobile isn't completely useless.

Also, as long as it will always take great pictures, it can function as a dedicated camera device.

MP3 player too.
