1020 update for Lumia Denim

Well, apparently 1451.1XXX is Denim. My mistake. I hadn't heard that bug was still around with Denim.

Odd, I installed an update and after it completed, my phone re "installed" all the apps. My os is 8.10.14234.375

I can confirm the same bug on Rogers 1020 re: showing Cyan with PfD enabled. Firmware 3051.50009.1451.1001 and OS 8.10.14234.375

Where is the Denim update for the unlocked North America 1020 variant?

manufacturer model name: RM-877_nam_usa_957

I have just gotten one of these, it is telling me that it is up to date. It shows:
OS 8.10.14234.375
FW 3051.50009.1424.0002

Microsoft's availability page says 3051.50009.1451.1003 is the latest.

EDIT: Most bizarre thing I have ever seen. I installed and signed in to Preview for Developers app, then checked for updates again. There it is, Lumia Update. After install, I am indeed on the firmware version above which matches what it should be.

I thought Preview for Developers would never include firmware, yet it's the only way I was able to get this phone to update. Something is definitely FUBAR'ed in the update servers. Now if I could just figure a way to get Update 2 on it, of course PfD doesn't have that.

Just pinging this thread to report that what I said above is still true. Now that I've got a 950XL, I flashed my 059W473 with the recovery tool then had to install PfD to get it to Denim as before.

I am in the exact situation you were in, (same firmware and model name). Neither the preview for developers nor Windows Insider app solved my problem. I'm in the Fast ring and running the latest Windows 10 build, but after a couple of updates and hard resets, I'm still stuck on FW 3051.50009.1424.0002. Are you in the Insiders fast ring or slow? Any other ideas? My Lumia randomly freezes and powers off. (It's been doing this since before Windows 10 mobile, but seems worse now. I'm hoping a firmware update might solve this.

OK, I have actually been thru this several times the past couple of days, preparing some 1020s for sale. For the 000-US variant RM-877 059W473, here are the exact steps required to get it on Denim (x.x.1451.x)

1. Use WDRT or other appropriate tool to install the latest firmware. This will be Cyan (x.x.1424.x)
2. Go thru the initial setup, connect to WiFi, log in.
3. Check for updates. It will download 8.10.x.375 and the 'don't restart' fix.
4. Go to store and install Preview for Developers. Run it and enable PFD.
5. Check for updates again. (very long wait)
6. This time it should download Denim (x.x.1451.x)
7. Hard reset (about, reset)

I have discovered that if you vary from these steps, or already running Windows 10, you don't get Denim. For example, one time I installed and activated PFD before step 3. It downloaded some other build of 8.1 and decided it was up to date. I had to start over again.

Still very curious why this particular firmware exists only on the Preview server, and not on production OTA or the WDRT servers.

Yes, it's the latest firmware which for some reason still isn't available with the recovery tool, and you have to go through this ridiculousness to get it to install. This is specific to the unlocked American variant which shows RM-877_nam_usa_957 in Extras & Info.

What is the model, listed in Extras and Info?

If it's RM-875_im_mea3_999 (the one sold in Kenya) then you have the latest available.

So I can't get the new firmware even if it is available in other countries? This is a deeper problem than I thought

Egypt has firmware version 1451.1002 while Kenya has 1424.1001

So why the difference?

Thanks so much for your help. It's taking hours, but I've finally been able to get the Denim update after rolling back to 8.1 and following your step-by-step instructions. I've been trying to figure out how to do this for months. Hopefully my 1020 will stop it's random freezes (makes it a terrible alarm clock). re-installing W10 mobile and crossing my fingers.

I realize this is a few months old, but can ANYONE log into their PFD app successfully? I got my hands on a Factory Unlocked 1020 and cant get Update 2
