Are all 32 GB 1520s sold outside the US the 1520.3 RM-938? My wife is French and her parents may be visiting next month, I was wondering if I could have them bring me one, or would I be better off trying to get one here in the US?

European model won't work with your carrier's networks 4g, but it will work only on 3g now and you would be better getting the American model.

Thanks, I've heard there are issues with Nokia USA honoring the 1520.3 on warranty, is this true?

Check out the Lumia 1520 article on Wikipedia : Nokia Lumia 1520 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are four variants of the 1520. The version sold in France is the RM-937 version, which means that it will work on at&t networks, but only with 3G / HSPA. You need the at&t model (RM-940) or the 1520.3 (RM-938) version to work with American LTE signals.

Yeah, the phone is listed on that chart as Latin America. I don't know if the 938 was sold by any carriers in Latin America or not. But the telecoms across the American continent use the same LTE radio bands, while Europe and Asia use different frequencies, as in the International version.
