1520 doesn't seem to hold good resale value

I think it also depends on how you market your ad.
The unlocked 1520.3 (RM-938) holds the highest resale value since it supports more bands and can work with AWS carriers as well.

They are fetching between $350-400 in the Seattle area. I think the hard part to remember is that it is only a $550 device new. When you compare the 1 year used price of most phones, you have to take into account retail.

That $400 iPhone was $650-750 (16GB or 32GB) where as your Lumia was $100 less making it $300. Then you have the fact that it was a Windows Phone which brings them down in the $250 range. So if a 1520 is selling at $300-350, it's actually performing quite well.

Mine in Taipei has been on sale since two weeks after I bought it. No one even ever asked to buy it so I use it as a spare and for pics. The Galaxy note 2 is still in demand. Many didn't like the 3. However yes it is hard to resell, even for cheap in my case. Simply Taiwan is an iOS or Android place. WP never took off.

Im in South Africa and here the resell value is also low, new the phone costs R9700 ($904) and 2nd hand its going for R5000 ($466)

I'll chime in, I've seen used Lumia 1520s on eBay for $350 - $400, next to NIB sealed 1520s for $400. Which one will you buy ?

It's all market economics, I bought mine from a legit 3rd party, NIB, sealed for $425 in February. It's the AT&T 16gb, Red version, which I've since gotten unlocked. Really like the phone, someone would have to offer me more for the phone to make me part with it. BUT, that's just my personal preference. It was / is a niche product, but, uptake of phablets seems to be on the rise - it simply works for me & it's not BIG, other phones are small (my current perspective).

I Guess I was being optimistic for a 6 month old phone. Sad to see it go. I turned it on today and had a part me shed a tear. I'll be back for the Lauren.

I bought a second hand 1520 for AT&T for $320 (swappa). sold it last week for $360 (Craigslist). Took the $360 and acquired a HTC One M8 $65 a lot of. (BTW I do have my black 32GB 1520 still, I a bit like to own one or two phones to play with.)
