16:9 vs 4:3 camera settings

What would be a better aspect ratio to use? It looks as if 16:9 is a cropped version from the 4:3 image. That may be why some people say the image quality looks better on the 4:3 setting (more pixels and less zoom).

I'd say if it never leaves the phone to go with 16:9 but just about any other use should be 4:3 as you can crop out a 16:9 image from it if you really wanted to.

I just took otherwise identical pics in 4:3 and 16:9

4:3 = 3264 x 2448, 2.38 MB
16:9 = 3552 x 2000, 2.18 MB
