4g is now enabled in india after preview update

Checked with Airtel, Unless u have TDD LTE band 40 (2300 MHz) u wont get 4G in India atleast as of now.. !!

I am from Chennai and I got a 4G SIM card from airtel by doing a compatibility test in airtel website. But no use..no 4G option in Lumia 1520.

Any help would be appreciated.

Same with me, got a 4g sim from airtel and couldn't find option for selecting 4g.
I remember seeing 4g option in the list before upgrading to Windows 10 Technical Preview.

This is sad, i changed to a 4G sim from Airtel and even though i have 4G selected in the Network i am not getting any 4G. Anyone know if this would change?

1520 still supports 1800mhz not 2300mhz.

Airtel providing FDD network in few regions as of now, they are rolling it slowly in all areas,


They started with TDD LTE in 2012, hence in many cities like Kolkata and Bengaluru it is TDD 2300 MHz band which is not supported by 1520,

wait for Airtel to bring 1800 band, other providers like Reliance and BSNL will also roll out 4G in same frequency but it will take longer time than Airtel
