Besides price and screen size..
I feel like theyre identically the same. This phone arrives in Tmobile on Monday!!

I'm trying to decide which best for me.

Battery size is smaller in the 530.
Camera is fixed focus
half the memory
lower-quality display

don't know how the chipset stacks up

Also, the casing feels cheaper and has absolutely no grip.

The chipset (sd200) is ok, apart from its poor video playback support. Anything above 480p lags, and anything with a high bitrate just shows a green screen + sound.

The difference in screen quality between the two is vast. The 530 might be technically sharper due to its smaller size, but it is worse in every other way (poor colours, washed out, poor contrast, poor brightness, terrible viewing angles, impossible to see in the sun). The 530 has the worst screen in any Lumia phone, including the WP7 series.

635 is a much better bet than the 530. The 530 might have a slightly better processor than the 521 but otherwise it is a downgrade in every respect. The 521 equivalent on T-Mobile for 2014 is the Lumia 635 and is priced a bit lower than the 521 was priced last year at this time. Plus TMO is giving you two free cases right now with the phone.

I have a 635 and a 521 and i had a 530. The 530 can't even hold a candle to the 635. I returned mine and bought a 521 instead.
