720 drop with wireless cover question

Anyone have a 720 with the wireless charging cover that covers the 4 corners of the device along with the back? Ever try putting the phone screen-first into the case to protect the screen? Ever drop it like that?

I ask because I dropped my 720 a while back and shattered the digitizer. I replaced the screen and am wondering if this method would work better if dropped.

well, i definitely think the shell would help to some degree, but i dont think the inconvenience of snapping it on and off to use the device would be worth it. nor would it be good for the cases' structural integrity. Keep it on the back.

Of course, there are options such as other cases, perhaps a tempered glass screen protector, although i dont know if there are any for the 720.
