does anyone experience wifi signal issues with their 925? When I put 720 and 925 next to each other and look at the wifi's available and their signal, 925 gets far less signal if any. I've noticed this with my own wifi network, where in on room is relatively low, but wife's 720 picks it up no problem, whereas 925 cannot even find the network. which is, to put it mildly, disappointing.
Is there anything I can do about this problem?

Yea I will admit the WiFi for 925 is kind of weak... Makes the WiFi calling support that its capable of doing on my carrier useless. Hopefully a firmware can resolve its issue.

do you reckon it might be due to the metal body? from all of the devices I have none of them have metal body and have better recepetion by 50% than of what Lumia 925 gets... I'll probably ask Nokia Support regarding this.

Wha? My 925 picks up 2.4Ghz wifi to the edge of my property. It isn't, however, very strong at picking up the same router on the 5Ghz band.

in my case the wifi frequency doesn't matter. lumia 925 sucks at signal receiving compared to other devices (Lumia 720, Nexus 7, iPhone 3GS), that is my experience and it bothers me as I've expected it to be at least on par with 720.

Same troubles here. I had the N8 before getting the 925. For me it's not only terrible at picking up Wifi but very bad at network signal as well. I had read some where that Nokia said because of the metal ring it was going to get "excellent" reception. I bought on that statement alone. :(

I'm very happy with network (mobile) signal reception, HOWEVER this is my second device as the first one had very similar issues you describe. Try to get it changed for the new device. I suspect Lumia 925 has serious issues with mobile network signal reception along with wifi issues...

I have exactly the opposite experience so ... I wonder if you have a point. Theoretically, if the phone's counting on the ring to serve as a big loop antenna and the connection to the frame is poor, you might have very poor reception.

I have found my 720 to have significantly better WiFi range than my old 920. I'm not sure how the 920 and 925 compare though.

I don't see a significant difference here.

I'm talking about the signal reception here ... see below. my network is JackDaniels1 (5GHz, SSID hidden), JackDanielsGuest(2.4GHz, SSID visible). Please notice that some of the networks (JackDanielsGuest) are not even picked up by 925 and I get significantly lower signal than 720 / Nexus 7. I don't think this is ok.

btw where did you get that bumper on 925?

As for the signal reception.. I'm getting 4 bars for Lumia 925/1020/520 here.
802.11 b+g+n, transmit power: max, channel: auto, 5GHZ, SSID open, WPA/WPA2

For the bumper, its the wireless charging cover by Nokia :)
