820 battery mod

Just a quick question in terms of battery drainage, does the phone take power from both batteries at the one time and treat it like a big battery, or does it take most of it's power from the original 820 battery first before moving on to the added battery? Just curious as to how it recognizes the battery. Sorry if this is a silly question. Oh, and I didn't find it rude in the slightest, I found it pretty funny :winktongue: But then, I am only 16 myself so I'm in the range of 14 year old humour I suppose.

Your phone see dual battery as one big battery. Due to the fact that battery models are different and they are connected in parallel, one is being discharged faster than another (because of different internal resistances). In theory this means that one battery is fully depleted before another and this reduces lifespan of a battery. On the other hand full discharge is not so common and lifespan of mobile phone is ~2 years (compared to ~1000 charge cycles of good quality battery cell).

Hello Connor. Answer to your question, like you first guessed it takes from both batteries at the same time. Like I stated before voltage potential throughout discharge is the same for all cells in the parallel circuit (j_pou clearly didn't read this), the two cells want to be in equilibrium. So the "original" battery (cell) is 1800mah or about 37% of the total capacity of the battery and the "new" battery is about 63% of the total. Say I use 1000mah watching a couple episode of Brooklyn nine nine on the train that power would come proportional from each cell, 37% from the "original" or 370mah and 63% from the "new" cell or 630mah (i'm no teacher so if this isn't clear please say). That wasn't a silly question, it's nice to see someone wanting to learn on here, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Anyway this link may help you Serial and Parallel Battery Configurations and Information (j_pou it's probably best you read this site as you seem to have some misconceptions) sorry it has info on serial batteries mixed in there so just skip to the parallel if you want, also they don't go into great depth but there website looks like a good starting point.

Ps harriag I have no idea if your mother is dead or not, the winking face at the end there really throws me off. Either way it doesn't matter, its pretty clear from my original post I make mum jokes and I'm a massive ****, if you are going to post hogwash on this thread what do expect? A hug and pat on the back or your mum jokes?
