so my 920 somehow has a damaged motherboard which lead to a million problems (somehow works for the most part) so i've just been living with a half alive 920 for the past 2 months and i decided to wait because i wanted the 830 but at what the current prices seem to be for canada(it might drop when it's officially released but i can't wait 2 months for it to get super cheap) i'm wondering if i should just push and get a 930 for about 100-150 more. i go to school in canada so i can't get a phone tied to a carrier for when i go back home for breaks but i want to know should i push and get the 930 or settle for the 830 i mean it's not a bad phone apart from it being expensive and i really would like an sd card slot(the line between want and need is really blurred here), but i've also seen a lot of reports of faulty 930s with over heating issues and screen problems. Also if you think i should go for the 930 would expansys or gsmnation be a better site to order from i've seen a few people say support from expansys is horrible but i have no idea i'm just wondering. thanks if you can help me here

I'm wondering the same thing (930 or 830) but after reading about the screen problems that 930 have I think I should wait to see how will 830 perform. Anyway 830 will probably get in Bulgaria after 2-3 weeks or even later so for now I'm keeping my 820 which is working very good.

I played with the 930 for about an hour when I was at Microsoft Singapore and it didn't "connect" with me. So it'll be 830* for me.

* personal opinion and not trying to influence your decision.

I wish it was available in Canada so I could play around with it

Removable battery, SD Card Slot this makes it easy for me to decide.

However, I still have to consider the processor.... SD 400 vs SD 800
We shall wait and see. Still I'm inclined to the 830

I had a 930 and sent it back.
I now have the 830 and it suits my needs perfectly.
For me, much better than the 930.
It's plenty snappy, much lighter, much thinner, not near slippery and so much easier to hold and use.
The 930 got almost too hot to comfortably hold when using some apps, mostly some of the msging apps that I use a lot
and they battery drain was terrible.
None of these issues with the 830.

I've not looked back.

Absoluetly agree with Fred, I too had a Lumia 930 and it was getting hot as hell, my hands would start sweating because of it which instantly made the screen all smudged. I sent it back and waited for 830 to come out. I've had it 2 days now and I cannot be happier, it's amazing. 930 was indeed too thick and heavy.

I definitely recommend 830 over 930.

830 is "flagship"? Yea right... It's processors single core performance is almost worse than the one in 925... I mean cmon... We are almost in the 2015 and they come up with a phone like this. It's a shame... The problem is not in our current situation (WP8.1), but it will be, when Windows 10 comes to our phones. I would not buy a phone with a processor that is worse than the one in 930. Your phone will have longer support for updates.

Some pretty wild statements, there. There is absolutely zero reason to believe that Windows 10 will require more resources then Windows 8 as they will still be using the same version of the NT kernel with minor changes (WP8 uses NT 6.2, WP8.1 uses NT 6.3 and W10 will use NT 6.4). At worse, there will be specific features that won't translate onto current models due to hardware features that don't exist yet, but W10 is not a major kernel revision, which means there is no reason why an update will not be available for the 830 or even the older units such as the 920 and 1020.

In other words, unless you have some sources for your information, wild speculation into things you know nothing about should be avoided. ;)
