I've had more problems finding car chargers that work with the 920 than any other phone I've ever owned. I've tried many chargers and it seems most don't charge the phone. Anyone know why so many don't work?

Go to Radio Shack. Their in house brand of micro USB car chargers work great. It charges my 920 and my wife's 1520, and that's no east feat for her phone. Wait until Black Friday so you can pick one up for $4.95. I've had mine since last Black Friday when I had a Lumia 810.

Pretty much anything works with my 920.

Make sure the car chargers in question are putting out enough power. (1 amp minimum I'd say)

I have a couple of USB cigarette adapters that put out >= 1 amp, but I found the key was the right cable. You need one that is power-only, so it would actually pump out a full 1 amp. A traditional USB data cable would only let it put out 500 mA, which wasn't enough to charge while navigating.

Beachwhale is correct. I went through about 4 car chargers with several different cords and came to realize that it actually has to do with the cord. While researching on-line, I found a lot of other people experiencing issues with incredibly low-charging in their vehicles and computers, regardless of ampage. Apparently most USB and micro-USB cables are data + power, which ends up severely limiting the charging function - you need to find one that is power-only.

The one Beachedwhale linked (PortaPow Charge Only Micro USB Cable) is the exact one that I have. If you do not have a USB connector in your vehicle, pretty much purchase any adapter of your choosing (preferrably one that is 1 amp or above) to connect. Best of luck!

If you want it easy, just get the original Nokia car charger.

It would be great to get a list of dual USB 2.1A car chargers that worked with Nokia's at the higher current without buying this cable or identifying a cheaper alternative to this cable.

I've brought a Nokia dc-17 and works flawlessly, even when I'm using here drive.
