Hi I leave my phone on almost all the time, but today my mobile network were supposed to be transfer my number to their parent company and I was getting impatient at this not occurring , so I've done several reboots in hope of force re acquire network may do something, 😞 anyhows forgetting the reason for me rebooting,,,,,... Is it Normal that its take 78 seconds for the phone to boot.. From vibrate until the start screen appears ⁉😥

Phone start up time (from the initial vibration feedback to the appearance of the start or lock screen) seems to vary depending on the number of apps installed on the phone... aside from the OS and firmware versions of course. The more apps installed, the slower it seems to take the phone to start up. The same is true when shutting the phone down.

As a comparison, I've got 102 apps installed on my L1020, more than 2/3 of which are pinned to my start screen. However, it took my phone only 37 seconds from the initial vibration to the lock screen... and additional 10 seconds to unlock the lock screen (pin code) to the start screen for a total of 47 seconds. Though I've got an older device, it has just been repaired (board was replaced with a new one) and everything has been freshly installed, which could be the reason why my phone booted a lot faster.

P.S.
You could usually simply turn on Airplane mode and then turn airplane mode off to "restart" or "reset" your mobile network connection - this would save more time than restarting the phone.

Cool thanks👍 I've got 41 apps installed thankfully I don't set password and sim pin anymore ,I just got another 1020 so ill have install same apps on that and time it .

That's great! Let us know your timing results - I'm guessing the "new" L1020 would boot up much faster even after you've installed the same number of apps as is in your L930.

Same content transferred over to lumia 1020 and same apps minus one that isn't compatible with 1020 ,and the boot time is 33 seconds from vibrate until start screen appears 😊 guess those extra cores in 930 need warming up a little😄

Could be some power-throttling algorithm to prevent processor over-heating, but let's see how the L1020 performs with time (I remember the boot time and shut down time of the L1020 being a lot longer than ~30 seconds when it was already 10 months old and with less free space).

Actually, a more accurate comparison would be to have two fresh phones (at least one L930), have the same apps installed on both of them and then compare their boot times, but I don't think that's necessary at this point in time.

Just timed my Lumia 830 several times with same ammount of Media and apps on 64sd and was 75/76 seconds 😊
