A couple of new issues

Since one of the last updates (I'm not on Insiders) I've had issues (issues I didn't have before) with the camera and reduced battery life. I don't know which update because my elderly mom has developed dementia issues that I've had to deal with so I just recently noticed. My photos have been hazy and have lost detail (not that the camera ever excelled at detail). Here's an example followed by a similar pic from my seven years old Nokia N8:

It's sad that a seven year old phone camera is producing that much better pics.

My battery life has begun to not make it through the day whereas I never had that problem before. Has anyone else had these issues?

I don't have those issues because I don't turn mine on anymore. Paperweights don't have technical issues.

I was hyped when I bought that phone. One of the worst purchases I ever made. Good luck my friend.

Have you tried a hard reset to see if that would rectify your problem? Think this is your only choice to eliminate it being a software issue.

My phone is working nice but the finger print scanner has been turned off by Microsoft for unlocking the phone, it still works for authentication for purchases,etc. I'm very happy with this phone , maybe you should hard reset yours . My pictures are very decent. Good luck!!!

Mine is fine too. Try hard reset, than recovery if need to as last resort. Then, call Alcatel for replacement.

The only hardware issue I've heard a few times with the Idol 4S is the fingerprint sensor dying.

Updated mine to latest Fast ring, and yes, fingerprint sensor doesn't wake up the phone. Hopefully fix is in the way.

Thanks for the suggestions. Since neither issue keeps me from using the phone, I've had to put off doing anything about it (like hard reset) because I have more pressing issues with my mom.

Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. It's been a rough ride and I don't know where or when it will end. The possible loss of my home is one of the issues, but I will work through them one day at a time
