A good upgrade for an ATIV S user?

Recently the last update to DP8.1 has caused large amount of problems to my LTE variant of the ATIVS, which has made my phone almost unusable when on the go. Unable to revert back to WP8 GDR3 (which I wouldn't mind) I'm just considering of getting rid of this phone and buying the new 830. Unfortunately, no new information is out regarding a US release date and I'm almost at wits end. I was planning on considering grabbing a Lumia 635 as a temporary handset and then when I get the Lumia 830 use it as my workout phone for the gym. Any thoughts as to how I should proceed?

Extra note: I'm on prepaid T-mo under the $50 a month plan and will switch back to the $30 5GB plan soon, as this plan has never failed me until I went job hunting.

We don't even know for sure if/when the 830 is coming to the U.S. Let's hope we get some info soon.

That's what I'm worried about, not being specific is what's Microsoft is only good at nowadays it seems.

It will be downgrade. BTW, you can revert to GDR3.
