Neowin is reporting screen shots of build 10009 with new Icons and an appearance of the upcoming Spartan browser. Take these with a grain of salt as we all aware, we can't be sure of the authenticity of these screen caps nor what will ultimately make it into what we see but these do look impressive.

Really not liking these new desktop icons, I liked what they did in the very first build with the File Explorer and This PC icons but now they look like they belong on Windows 95.

I think you are probably not alone in that regard. As long as it doesn't function like the OS did in 95, I'll live with it. Or grab a copy of WIndowBlinds from Stardock and kick the overall look up a notch. :)

Very much looking forward to Spartan as I don't like Chrome, and IE is a hog. With TP, we have the ability to influence it positively

I simply won't use chrome. IE 11 isn't so bad IMHO but chrome won't be in my download queue anytime soon

I love Chrome, works well for me EXCEPT ONE ******** THING!

Also, I don't like the icons, so I'll just change them. It's a good thing we can change them so easy.
I'll change it to this one, been using it for some time. Looks prime.

There is no way the icons will look like this..
Someone is just f*cking around with the icons!

On a side note ,
I really want spartan browser to be great and make me leave Opera.
And that is a big statement!

Agreed, We have PC's with 4K displays and really impressive gaming graphics that will blow most people away but, Microsoft is using ICONs that looks like a 10 year old drew.

I want to be impressed, and this part is very disappointing..

Date of 3/13/2015? Seems legit. Don't understand why people keep believing these are the final icons neither. Ever heard of placeholders?

Well, they could have easily retained the old icons and spent time on something else :winktongue: .

One of the things I'm hoping Microsoft does is to offer some additional methods to theming Windows X. Something different than when we got in Windows 7 that's carried into Windows 8 and 8.1. Not only should the background image and colors change but maybe the desktop and folder icons as well.

They wouldn't have made brand new icons that were just going to be used as placeholders, like someone said above me they could have just kept the old icons if they wanted placeholders.
