Big thanks to Michelle and all at Windows Central for my new toy. I won the Fa La La contest and received a shiny new dual SIM 950 in black!

Installed updates on the slow ring, so I'm at 14295.1005 at present, I've come from a 925 running the latest 10586 build.

It's a very nice phone, I don't really see the non-premium feel that some people have been complaining about. The screen is gorgeous and although the back is plastic it feels pretty good. I'm slightly biased against metal though, as the outside edges of my 925 are quite badly chipped after a few years of use. OS feels fast and smooth and continuum works really well too, I've tried it both with the dock and through an MS Wireless Display adapter. I can see several uses for this E.g. presentations or playing videos in a hotel room when on a business trip.

There are still a few minor features missing from the OS (for me weather on the lock screen is a big miss, and I also used Flip to Silence quite regularly) but it's getting there. With a few more Universal Apps (Netflix, Eurosport Player being the main ones I'd like) and one or two other apps I could almost ditch my Nexus 7.

2) install Windows Device Recovery Tool on computer
3) connect phone and do firmware/software update
4) do basic setup again
5) do OVER THE AIR (OTA) update to latest release build.
6) do basic set up again
7) personalize the phone

Firmware update if required will come over the air. Just need to make sure you're on the production ring and not insider.
