A possible interpretation of "Shipping by the 25th"

Mine shows on my cc as pending, so it still may ship tomorrow. Keeping hope alive for today, though.

Update: Like others, I received the shipping email tonight from MS, but UPS does not have it in their system for tracking as of yet. Will have to wait til morning to check.

It would be great to get it before Thanksgiving. I confess to being irritated by Microsoft's apparent inability to fathom how online shipping works. Most of the big consumer sellers figured this out a long time ago, and have managed to give prospective buyers a number of clear options for delivery. I do a lot of shopping online this time of year. As the holidays approach, its no small thing for sellers to hit the deadlines they have promised. So it defies logic that Microsoft would roll out its usual mixed up confusion and have shipping straddle right over Thanksgiving. In the US, at least, many companies give people off Thursday and Friday, so if it doesn't get there before Thanksgiving, it pushes to Monday. If that was clearly the case, maybe I'd dispense with the express shipping choice and save the courier the aggravation of futilely trying to deliver on Friday.

So I hope I'm wrong, but I'm going to put my money on these things shipping tomorrow.

I (re)ordered a Surface Book this weekend and my CC was charged and I got a tracking number about 30 mins ago. My order page also shows that the Surface Book has been shipped. The 950XL, OTOH, still shows in process even though I've already been charged. As inept as the MS Store online ordering has been so far, I doubt that i'm going to get a second shipping notification later today. Tomorrow also makes sense in that overnight orders will be getting theirs on the 25th.

Same here. The CC got charged and Capital One's fraud protection kicked in even. I really hope they ship from within US, overnight, then there is still a chance!

I selected the express shipping...which was a $16.99 charge, but I figured if i'm paying that much for the phone, I might as well get it faster. Having said that, my cc payment cleared today as well, and I eagerly await the email confirming shipment.
