About the Backups...

I'm rocking a 920 with the 8.1 preview for developers, a few days ago a 3.5mm jack broke inside the port and I can't get it out. Now it is always in headphones mode which forces me to answer calls with the speaker option. I took that as an opportunity to move up a little to the Lumia 925, since my 920 has its mileage and the 925 was pretty cheap at amazon Spain (where I live). Anyway, the 925 is expected to arrive tomorrow and I am wondering when I restore the backup I made today on my 920, will it restore all the apps from onedrive? or will the backup download them from the store automatically?(android style) I am pretty concerned about this because I mainly communicate through Whatsapp with friends and clients and since the app is no longer in the store I'm afraid I'm not going to get it back soon enough which will force me to keep using my 920 untill the app is released again.

I wouldn't restore if I were you. You are better off getting the phone and use something like the app "Lumia system updater" to update the system apps only. Remove all the apps like games that came on the phone.

Download Preview for Developers and get 8.1 and then do another hard reset and then install the apps you want and update all the others.

I'm quite sure the apps will download from the store....so no WhatsApp yet, but it shouldn't take too long before it's back in the store, I guess...

I'm gonna take the 920 to repair shop and hopefully they'll be able to get it out. Anyway, I'm gonna give it to my father and upgrade him from his 520. Thanks for the interest though.
