Accidentally muting the phone with cheek when taking a call

I don't have this phone myself, but my father in law has been complaining recently that when he makes a phone call, he ends up muting the phone with his cheek when he brings it up to his ear. Does this sound like something that could happen? Is there something that I could suggest that he try with his 822 setting-wise that might help eliminate the problem?

I'm afraid I'm a Windows phone noob, but am excited to pick up my Icon tomorrow, and finally say good-by to android!

Hmm maybe decrease the screen sensivity could help..i got 520 and personally i dont have any problems,i just make sure only my ear to touch the speaker

Ask him to lock the phone before putting to his ear. I end up having to do this when I'm typing while talking. Only draw back is that, you'll need to unlock to end the call.
