Adding post approval to infracted posters

I was wondering if it would be worthwhile (or even technically possible) to add such restrictions to posters that receive too many infractions.

For example, any poster with 50 points would need to have their post approved. The bulk of our infractions are between 25-35 so they would need at least two before triggering the restriction. It would help us keep track of problematic posters and hopefully guide them down the right path before they're perma banned.

I'd rather just perma-ban them. It's obvious they aren't going to change, why would any extra guidance make a difference?

To hopefully send home the message that their behavior will not be tolerated and that they are actively being watched. It would also help us catch the trouble makers early. Everyone that gets banned deserved it but some people are redeemable.

It might just make them more angry if they see they are needing approval in order to post, and then they might post something more hostile than what they originally would have, just because they're mad that they had to wait for approval.
