Airplane Mode Battery Drain

On airplane mode without any phone or app use my 8X battery goes dead in just a few hours. When the phone is on and maybe data, if I don't do much with the phone it can last more than 24 hours. In both cases all other settings are the same.

Has anyone else seen this?

What does Battery Saver report as the top app consuming the battery when Flight Mode is on? Are you sure you don't have any apps running in the background, it's possible some app can't connect to its server and keeps retrying over and over again.

My friend had this problem as well, it's pretty strange

Battery Saver doesn't show anything unusual. I just spent a couple days in an area with no or very limited cell coverage. I left the phone and data on, and it lasted almost 36 hours. If an app was trying to repeatedly connect it should have also done so in this situation.

I think it's a bug with the OS on this phone. Perhaps it's a result of T-Mobile and HTC not pushing the latest updates; instead I went the Preview route.
