Alarm feature in my Lumia 830

Unlike my Blackberry where the alarm works even when the phone is switched off, the same does not happen in my Lumia 830. Is this is drawback in my phone or it is a general issue with Windows Phones ?

Not sure what you mean as I also used to use a BB. If the unit is powered off, the alarm doesnt work. If it's "asleep" or in lock mode, the alarm would work. Same as with WP.
