After anniversary update, Alarms works using a ramp increasing volume scale. Use a long tone, it works and loops, after one minute it shouts.
Change sound in Settings -> Notrify -> scroll list till clock and alarms

can you also check to see if you have the latest OS version installed?

I have the latest anniversary update,fyi thats when it al started.

Alarm works looping sounds and increasing volume, change it as I wrote upper via Settings -> Notify
