When I go to cellular data, my only options are 4g or 2g. Where is 3g? Because frankly 2g is completely unusable and useless. What that heck am I missing here?

Your network is 4G, not 3G and that is why you are not getting the 3G option. 2G is always present as a network type anywhere and that is why you have it.

I disagree, I'm showing 3g right now. I go from LTE to 3G and then 1x. There is no 2g for me. I'm on Verizon's network, so maybe that's the difference?

1X is 2G on CDMA carriers like sprint and Verizon . GSM carriers like T-mobile and AT&T will show LTE,4G, 3G ,2G and G. If you go into a 3G coverage area then the phone will show 3G.

I am on tmo and have never seen anything other than 4g or 2g. Never LTE which I am still waiting for

Verizon only has 3g and LTE, 1x is digital service only no data. You will never see 2g on a Verizon phone.

I'm on T-Mobile also, just checked, only options are either 2G or 4G, My phone has said 3G before in certain parts.
