Hey guys...like many of you, I experienced horrible battery life when I first got my white 920. Even after turning off NFC, that didn't change.

After Nokia updated the nokia drive app though, battery life has been amazing! I get longer than a day of moderate use (lots of text messages, few phone calls, games and lots of music).

Here's a few screen shots of my battery life after a few hours of use.

I wish i had screenshots of how it was before

Can you tell us the settings on your phone while this great battery life is taking place?

Wifi, Bluetooth, NFC, Mobile Internet, 3G or 4G, Location, Brightness, Background tasks, Display Touch Sensitivity.

Did you watch any movies?

I would say mine definitely performed better after the update, but I also did a few more things-closing more background apps, uninstall some more apps, etc.

Wifi is on all day..i literally never turn it off because I have wifi at home and work..bluetooth has always been off (even when i was getting horrible battery life)..i have 4G LTE all the time (Chicago)..Location is always turned on..Brightness is always on high..I don't use auto. Background tasks (see screenshot)..Display touch is set to Normal. I haven't watched any full length movies yet..

(sorry..files seem to not be uploading..)
But for background tasks..these are my apps

I find that rather hard to believe. Battery at 74% after 10 hours of use? Either that's too good to be true, or you rarely use the phone. You see, I recently used my NL920 to watch a movie, browse the web, browse the store, send sms, check email, play games, listen to music, take photos (I took almost 200 photos in a week), make few phone calls, use Nokia Maps.

I also have updated all Nokia softwares from the store.

After 8 hours my battery is down to 20%.

What version of Windows Phone 8 OS are you using? I am still using 8.0.9903

I don't think thats 10 hours of continuous use. Maybe the usage time was around 1 to 2 hours of light to medium use and the rest was in idle. If thats the case, then I have the exact same battery life as the OP.

As i said in my post. This was moderate use of multiple phone calls..lots of text messages, listening to lots of music, browsing the web, things like that. Of course, it's not continuous use. There are hours where it's idle..but what I'm saying is before the update, with the same usage, my battery would be dead about 2 hours before i left work. Before the update, after 10 hours of the same usage, my battery would've never been at 74%.

Personally i think its the At & t network/LTE responsible for the battery drain. I have a 920 on o2 Germany and the phone lasts for a really long time. For example If i dont use the phone at all, having all options turned on wifi, nfc, bluetooth, etc it lasts ~50 hrs. Heavy usage it lasts ~20hrs. Could someone tell me what is the difference in 3g and 4g speeds you guys get in the US ?

Well, I am on Starhub's Singapore 3G network, and I experience quite the battery drain. Within the 8 hour time period, I have watched a full length movie, made a few calls, took over 20 photos, a few messages sent and received, video games played, and web browsing. After 8 hours, my battery is down to 20%. How do you explain that?

What more do you want ?

well that just sound weird ... after 8 hours of using, 20% battery left is absolutely fine!

watching a full movie, playing games, taking photos and so on in 8 hours is really heavy use.

precisely, unless this guy wants to create a dark matter reactor he wont get more battery life

I was getting about the same as you most days, Except today when my phone started a battery drain after 7 hours use, it dropped from 49% to 28% in 15 min.

Seriously klanguedoc, you battery performance is hard to believe. I just did another test. Played games, used Nokia maps, text messaged, made a few calls and took some photos. The phone was pretty much dead after 12 hours.

Well i guess i'm probably one out of a few that this is happening to..some people probably has worse or the same battery life. When i took these screenshots..i made sure to restart my phone so the percentage can be correct. I'll do another test soon.
