I went mouse-crazy a couple months back and tried all of these mice out. I was hoping to find a Bluetooth touch mouse that would be awesome for my Surface RT, Win 8, and Win 7. The bottom line for me was:
- touch mice are just not quite ready to be a primary, all-day, working mouse
- Bluetooth was just too clunky for everyday use, specifically due to my need to use the mouse on multiple computers
(as a Sales Engineer who does customer demos I can not afford to be mucking around in my settings trying to get a mouse to connect)
Here are the mice I tested:
Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse
Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse T630
Logitech Touch Mouse T620 with Full Touch Surface
Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse
Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse
Logitech Wireless Anywhere Mouse MX for PC and Mac
Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse
Bluetooth ended up not working out for me (due to the need to switch between computers)
Touch technology on a mouse sounds nice but I don't think it's good enough currently. And may never be good enough. The ability to swipe around on a mouse just doesn't work that well.
The Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse worked out quite well, actually. The Windows 8 features/compatibility are *really* nice (cycling through apps and the windows button). I would consider getting this mouse again to have as a dedicated home mouse.
The mouse I ended up buying and keeping and loving is the Logitech Wireless Anywhere Mouse MX. I love the solid quality feel. I love the ergs and buttons. I love the scroll wheel (which can be set to either "clicky mode" or "fast scroll mode". I love the button that (in Win7) brings up a view of all open windows.
