Anti-virus for SP3

Stupid question, because I am sure it does (and I will probably look it up after asking); but can the Surface 2 run full Office?

No Windows RT tablet can run any desktop programs other than the ones already included by default by MS.

My SP3 Si replacing a Lumia 2520, sort off. Within the first few days I caught a virus. Now I run AVG but never considered the performance impact. Just thought the SP3 battery live must be worse than Lumia 2520 due to size. I will try a few weeks without AVG to see if it makes a difference.
