Any chance the Nokia Lumia 800c for China can be activated on Verizon?

As it was explained to me, it has to have a Verizon specific radio in it to work on their network, same for Sprint.

Nope... Verizon and Sprint are CMDA carriers and unless they have support for the same bands for CDMA that Verizon uses and is branded verizon, it can't be activated on Verizon. Verizon and Sprint have it so only those branded to that company, it can not be activated on their network.

With T-mobile and AT&T, they're both GSM and when it comes to EDGE, they run on the same frequencies.

And no one wants to use edge anymore, so AT&T and Tmo phones are mostly incompatible too.

The plain and simple truth is, if the ESN isn't in Verizons and Sprint's database the phones will not be activated on eithers system even if it had the right frequencies in it. which also means if you find phones on say like Craigslist for example, you should do it locally and have them meet you at say the corporate stores so before you fork over the cash, you can make sure the ESN is clear and not blacklisted, or you will just end up with a papwerwork and a lesson learned.

That does not necessarily mean that the 800c will work on VZN and for the reasons set forth above VZN wont activate it Sorry thats just the way the big red checkmark is!

Verizon won't activate it unless it has their branding on it( minus the iphone) Wish cdma was as easy to get phones as gsm but it's not.
