So the Creative Intel RealSense F200 camera is a piece of junk. And I'm looking forward to a worthy replacement for it. Anyone know if any other manufacturers like Logitech have something coming out in the horizon?

Btw, I say piece of junk because mine doesn't work as advertised. It recognized me the first 2 or 3 times then fails ever since. It doesn't power on after resuming from sleep mode despite that I've changed my power management settings for the USB ports too. The image that shows up for me in Windows Hello is in black and white... Intel seems to ignore the threads on these issues and the last driver update was from July 20th. Even aside these issues the image quality isn't all that in comparison to the old Logitech HD9000 I had before it. Not happy with my purchase and hoping to get better support and quality from another manufacturer. :eck:

I have ordered the f200 from Intel and am thinking of opting out after hearing stories similar to yours, but, to answer your question: Intel and Razer have gotten together and are coming out with a user version. The proposed launch is estimated to be sometime in the first quarter 2016. Good luck and...patience.

Not only does it amaze me that there still isn't a suitable separate camera, but how many new flagship laptops haven't come with it.

After having some time with it on SP4, It is so good that It baffles me why they aren't making it heavily available and a big selling point.
