Hi everyone,
yesterday morning while drinking a coffee, I spilled the half cup on my keyboard.. I immediately turned off my unit and rinsed carefully the keyboard with water. But later on, the keyboard was not responding anymore even though the SD card was still working. Of course, this is not covered by the microsoft warranty..
That is why I am currently looking for a spare keyboard if someone got ideas where to buy one ?
Or if someone got a cracked screen SurfaceBook who doesn't use it anymore and want to sell or donate his keyboard ?
Many thanks ,

I take it you didn't buy the extended warranty with covers accidental spills. But I had my Surface Book stolen then recovered but the person responsible poured water on it because he thought he would be tracked. Well when it was recovered it wouldn't turn on. The father of the person responsible agreed to pay me the full cost of the SB. So I went to the MS store to purchase. I also took the damaged one in and the tech looked at it and said there is no sign of water damage and I should to a RMA to MS. So I contacted MS and they sent me a Fedex mailing label via email. I shipped it the next day and about 3 days later I got an email that it was approved for replacement and once the processing was done it would ship out to me. I go it back and it worked fine.

I still think you got really really lucky there, but then again, you really didn't need luck, since the father was going to pay for a new one anyways.

I never buy extended warranties, honestly. Every time I have in the past, it's always been a huge waste of money, since I've never needed them. It might have spared me an extra $300 when my SP3 died on me about a month after the original 1 year warranty ended, but for what I would have paid for MS complete, the savings wouldn't have been enough to make it feel worthwhile in the end. I roll the dice, personally.

I suggested eBay to the OP because I recall finding tons of broken SP3s on there for pretty cheap, and I imagine there will be broken Surface Books, too.
